St. Patrick's Day!

This past weekend we decked ourselves in green and celebrated St. Patrick's Day. Del's parents invited family and friends out for a feast, and we wanted to contribute. What better way than to add our own little family's "traditional" St. Patty's Day feast of corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, and (what else) cupcakes?! All of the food everyone made was so yummy! Now, if you know me, you know I L-O-V-E love to bake! And I love to experiment with my baking, so I was very excited for this holiday because I was finally able to try something new! Cupcakes! They are my weakness. I love to make them, I love to eat them. I've tried making cake from scratch before, and it turned out almost disastrously. Needless to say, I was worried this time. Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Superbowl XLVI

This past Sunday was Superbowl XLVI!  We normally try to get all of our friends and family together for the game (even if it isn't our team playing) but this year we went low-key.  Everyone was kind of doing their own thing.  We ended up going over to my parent's house and deep-frying a bunch of goodies! (Yes, we are deep-fryers!) We do enjoy deep-frying, but only on weekends.  Since it was Sunday, and the Superbowl, we went all out... sort of! We deep-fried cut up potatoes and made our own homemade garlic fries (those went the fastest!); corn tortillas to make Ixtapa-style (Mexican restaurant) chips; egg rolls and mozzarella sticks; and my mom made a chili cheese dip. To go along with all the deep-fried foods, we had french onion dip, soy sauce, salsa, nacho cheese dip, guacamole (my personal fave!), sour cream, and good old ketchup. Two Down, One Left!

We are now officially into the third trimester!  The last leg of this journey... and I couldn't be more excited, nervous, anxious, or happy!  It seems as we progress further and further, time as begun to fly faster and faster.  I feel myself wanting to get everything set up and ready for this baby so that we are prepared this time around (with Dustin, we weren't ready... AT ALL!).  But hubby says to slow down, things will be fine.  So I'm trying to do that. GENDER   Undeniably, this trimester brought the much anticipated and awaited news... the gender of Baby B #2!  True to my hubby's family, this little one is yet another boy!  There is officially no fighting those genetics... they make boys!  We couldn't be happier, though. :) WEIGHT I've heard that with each pregnancy, you tend to gain more weight than the previous.  Wow!  Who knew how true that would be (for me)!  I've already gained more weight than I had when Dustin was b...
